I’ve always been an active person and have been a member of a gym on and off for many years. My main type of exercise would always be cardio as it’s what I knew best. That said, I wouldn’t particularly say I enjoyed it. It was just something I thought I ‘had to do’. I’d go to many gym classes as that way I’d have someone telling me what I needed to do. I got into cycling and would cycle 15 miles each day but due to work commitments this unfortunately came to a halt. I tried many ‘diets’ most of which looking back now were just torture, unsafe and only offered a ‘quick fix’. It was on a family holiday this year where I felt unhappy with my body and generally uncomfortable with the way I looked in a bikini which gave me the push to finally do something about it.
I started training with Leanne Hurst in September this year and the results I have achieved so far are largely due to Leanne’s perfect combination of diverse training methods, individualised exercise programmes and challenging yet achievable goal setting. I’d never stepped foot inside the weights area of the gym as it was always, what seemed to me, full of men. I guess I felt a bit intimidated by it all. What if I did it wrong? What if people laughed at me? The weight machines all looked so confusing and quite frankly, I wouldn’t have a clue where to start!
Leanne liaised with me, finding out exactly what It was I wanted to achieve and provided me with a training plan along with a nutrition plan tailored to suit my likes and dislikes around food, which for me was perfect and just what I needed. I’d always eaten pretty healthily so had some idea what to eat but Leanne providing me with a nutrition plan really opened my eyes as to what foods you could actually eat when training properly through flexible dieting. I’m now nine weeks in and don’t feel ‘deprived’ of foods and for the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I’m on a ‘diet’.
Leanne provided me with 1:1 training sessions for the first few weeks to help introduce me to the weights area, grow my confidence and build strength. Im now confident enough to go to the gym alone and complete my training following Leanne’s plans. Something I never thought I’d be able to do!
I’m finally starting to feel a lot more comfortable with the way my body looks, my strength is growing every week and I’m becoming ‘lean’ not ‘skinny’. People are beginning to notice these changes, complimenting me regularly both inside and outside of the gym, a massive confidence boost! The best part? None of my training has felt like a ‘hassle’ its been enjoyable and has honestly become a lifestyle choice.
I honestly cant thank Leanne Hurst enough because without her, none of this would have been possible! She really has changed my life for the better!
